Between my left and right speakers...
Getting comfy...

^Some large speakers require 70 to 100 hours to break in. Smaller towers and bookshelves usually around 50. Logically speaking, the midrange drivers and woofers are the ones that need to loosen up. I'm sure that they are used every day for an hour or two so it shouldn't be that long before they are settled in.

If you ever decide on speaker wires:

Belden 10 AWG... Thick set of fine strand copper wire. Use them in my systems with really good results.

^^white Jacket available on that speaker wire. I'll have to take a look at that. very nice thanks for the source

the Ramones were helping out with some break in tonight. and yes I manage to get about an hour or so a day.

I have a Ortofon Blue cartridge on the way, when it gets here and I am sure I have it installed correctly there will be some serious Vinyl spinning to get everything backed up to file.

So my Ortofon Blue cartridge came in today. Is there anything special I should consider doing when I install it ???

I was thinking of spinning and capturing a piece of vinyl before swapping the Rega Carbon cartridge out in favor of the Ortofon Blue. then recording a comparison file to compare to see how noticeable the difference is with a 24/192 wav file.

^^That's a good idea, to do an A/B comparison between the two cartridges. Give the Blue at least 40 hours to 'settle' before doing the recording though, that should be plenty of time for it to find it's sweet spot.

^^ will do. walking through everything tonight again the spec quotes a tracking force range of 1,8 g (18 mN) or 1.8. Its been so long I forgot all about that part.

EDIT:

well that's a wrap without a pressure gauge. There is nothing to dial in on the counter weight of the RP1 so the only way to be sure of the pressure setting is to use gauge, which is the right way to do it anyway.

if you know a source for a tracking pressure gauge let me know.

^^I got a free stylus pressure gauge last summer when I bought my Dynavector from my friend's shop. Nothing fancy just a slide with a counter weight and increments to measure the the tracking force. I don't think it was more than $20.
