I don't understand. Why would this be desireable? You already have the CDs. And are not WAV files compressed i.e. lossy?

...WAV is Lossless, FLAC is Lossless, Monkey Audio is Lossless, those are three of the best formats for digital media Hep. WAV = 1411 kbs,,,the other two are variable but can be converted back to WAV if you want to burn a replacement CD as good as your original.

Oh and Hep, you do realize that vinyl is compressed sonically as well? I used to have an expander to return the original bandwith to my albums, the way they were supposed to sound.

Those are the most popular ones. OGG 500 kbs is the best Lossy format I have ever used.
