Ted Nugent hinted that a run for the US Presidency may be a part of his plans during a Google Hangout session with Detroit’s Classic Rock station 94.7 WCSX Classic Rock on Monday.

"I have threatened to run for public office, because I have been prodded to do so, and pushed hard in Texas and other states, and here in Michigan, so it’s not off the table," Nugent replied to a question posed by WCSX program director Jerry Tarrants. "I’m 65 this year but I’m still blessed with incredible energy. I don’t know. At this point, it would be up to Mrs. Nugent and my family; I would consult with my manager Doug Banker, but I’m being pushed pretty hard to run for public office.”

“And I believe my sense of logic, my sense of common sense, my connection to people who are in the asset column of America,” he continued. “I believe that I would perform an enormous upgrade in returning to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and most important of all, accountability."

Nobody gets to be President of the US without the 'usual suspects' support. I have as much chance as Ted does of gaining the nomination, seeing I'm not an American that says it all.

I like his early music, I don't care for his politics, I respect he's a straight shooter, but he's totally nuts about a few things too. Even if by some miracle he got elected he would find out very quickly it's not the Presidency that's broken it's the entire corrupted system of government and the party he would represent is the worst of the bunch, corrupt as the day is long.

Take money out of politics, it's the only hope anyone has for a government that answers to the people, not their bank accounts or self interest.

Good luck with that Ted.:hab:

I can never figure why it is so many musicians feel the urge to get involved in politics, have you noticed it never works the other way around, you never hear of some guy announcing “Right, I’ve decided I’m quitting Congress and I’m forming a Death Metal band along with three other guys that I hang out with from the Senate Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure Committee”

But poor old Ted! Nobody has bought this imbecile’s records now for over 30 years, at least judging by the fact his last odious, woman-hating P.O.S. album looks like it sold about 12 copies as it only made it to #186 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and nowadays he can only tour around county fair show grounds, casinos, and night clubs. So a change of career is well overdue. But apart from the fact he doesn’t have the brains to win a debate against Dennis Rodman, as a member of the Democratic Party I would obviously give anything just to see Ted on the Republican ticket, in fact I’d even encourage GOP friends of mine to vote for him at their nominating convention!!... so I'm absolutely all for this, just go for it Ted!.... I’m already fantasizing about seeing the ‘Vote Nugent’ campaign bus rolling into town with the words …"The Whole World Sucks, But America Sucks Less” written in letters 8 feet high all along one side of the bus, and with “Obama Can Suck On My Machine Gun” emblazoned all down the other side (just two of Ted’s many favourite slogans). I know how last November Ted said that anyone who votes democrat should be decapitated, and then I read that his solution to the recent US government shutdown was that as far as government workers go, he said he would simply fire them all…though I actually think he was probably misquoted there, and knowing him he more likely said he would fire at them all. :pow:

But he’s just so incredibly quotable, in fact he'd actually do all the work for you to get his opponent elected, all his opponent would need to do would be to spend the entire 2-3 months of the presidential campaign playing golf, and just release another of Ted’s redneck quotes about nuking the entire Middle East or whatever to the national media every few days, and bingo!!!....the Dems would be guaranteed a 50 state sweep, and you're in the White House, plus your golfing handicap has fallen 10 points as a bonus!! So his fire-breathing actually works fine for me, and I'd seriously love to see Ted run for something so that he can experience what cruelty to animals really feels like….because on the radio, or in real life debates, he would just get humiliated and schooled over and over again if he ever attempted to become a serious politician, mostly because he doesn't have the intellect to keep up.

I actually laughed at this. Nice try, Ted. But no.

I know that the 'vote by sex' split at the last US election was around 53% women to 47% men...so to win over the ladies President-elect Ted probably needs to revise the policy of bounding and gagging and trussing up naked women on a platter like a stuffed chicken ready for the oven, and then stuffing a grenade inside her mouth, like he used on the original sleeve of his last album (until he was forced to withdraw it)....
