IMG_4078.jpegIMG_4084.jpegIMG_4090.jpegIMG_4077.jpegI’m hoping for a discussion with collectors on Russian cd collections from CD Maximum. Who among us has a “two for one” cd collection licensed in Russia?
I first noticed these collections appearing on eBay in early 2000. Collections of cds licensed and manufactured in The Russian Federation. Each cd would often contain two albums from an artist and collections would include nearly all their albums.
Which collections do some of you have? My collections include: The Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Yes, Creedence Clearwater Rival and John Fogerty, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, Bad Company, and Slade.
Let’s discuss your “Russian Rare” collections.

Never knew they even existed......just curious but do any of them have extra tracks not on the regular releases? What makes the Russian ones special?

Some of them include a full
album and b-sides, non album tracks. Disc generally only contain 80 minutes of music. Many Beatles albums were around 34 minutes long and other artists’ albums could be 38 minutes or longer so fitting two complete albums on one disc was often the goal.
I looked around eBay today just out of curiosity and collections from The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Grand Funk Railroad and Iron Maiden were also produced during 2001.
CD Maximum is the record label that produced these collections and it appears they still produce albums for many heavy metal groups still today.IMG_4097.jpeg
