Aging Metalhead
Here we go.
I just looked over this list of the Billboard's Year End Hot 50 (for us, anyhow), and I just have one thing to say.....
W...T...F!!!
This is one weak list of songs.
In the 1st 10 alone, we have a Gibb and a Cassidy, a Lonely Boy, an androgynous, palindromic foursome dressing in glittery curtains singing about a Dancing Queen* , and if that's not enough, we got Streisand parlayed to Barry Manilow.
How weak is it??
The toughest person in the top 10 is named Alice, for pete's sake!!
*Actually, the harmonies in Dancing Queen are pretty cool. Ditto for the 10CC cut.
Ok, I'm gonna abuse my power as president and CEO of the Song of the Decade threads, and tossing out the first song.
David Soul - Don't Give Up On Us
I don't want to take any chances with this song. Gonna be watching 1977 closely. There are still two very, very bad Kenny Rogers songs.
