Having had the new album for a week now, I think I can safely say that it's my favourite Sirenia album since "Nine Destinies and a Downfall". With time it could even rank higher than that.

By the way, the band just dropped a brand new video:

Their vids are always visually appealing. Like Kamelot, good use of CGI.

I still like 12th hour a little bit more than this new track.

Went to see Delain and Sirenia last night. I've seen Delain before, but I honestly never thought I'd see Sirenia live. I would have loved to have seen them with Monika back in the day, but since that never happened, at least I'm sure the current lineup is the best lineup to catch live. If you thought Emmanuelle looks good on photos, it's nothing compared to in real life and vocally she hit every note with perfection. The rest of the band played well and seemed to really enjoy themselves, but of course there was a lot of backing tracks for keys, bass, choirs - it didn't bother me though. The only minor complaint I had, was the lack of "Seven Widows Weep" in the setlist.

For those interested in the setlist, here it is:

Serpent
Lost in Life
Dim Days of Dolor
My Destiny Coming to Pass
Cold Caress
Goddess of the Sea
Treasure n’ Treason
Meridian
Ashes to Ashes
My Mind's Eye
The Other Side
The Path to Decay

Sirenia adjacent, Morten's side project Mortemia rolls on with a long string of singles across the original album and 3 later EP's.

The latest is a cover of Gangsta's Paradise (of all things). An interesting choice for a cover, utilizing 3 vocalists.

Mortemia - Gangsta's Paradise (feat. Diva Satánica, Grace Darkling & Rehn Stillnight)

Saturday morning drinking coffee and watching all the weird videos on the forum......
Never heard of Serenia or Mortemia....but that 'Gangstas Paradise' video was interesting.
Even though I'm familiar with the song from the film I had never paid attention to the lyrics before....very interesting and insightful...made me look up Coolio and the song.
Love the death vocals from the one girl in the song above.....;)

Very interesting, daring even, cover. I think they did a good job.

@dr wu I don’t know if you would like Sirenia or Morten’s other band Tristania (which is big in the later formative years of Gothic/Symphonic metal). I enjoy anything gothic so Mortemia is right up my music alley!

Another Mortemia cover Riders on the Storm (Doors) which is really good, IMO.
