Re: The Official Rush Thread

Great stuff MP I think Rush kind of captured the feel of the cold war and the threat that played on peoples minds back in 84', dark mood songs really but still a sound album.

Re: The Official Rush Thread

I used to really resent Rush after they came out with Moving Pictures. I
got into the first 6 albums as a kid listening to my Uncles vinyl and BAM they are everywhere on the radio playing this stuff that sounded nothing like the band I loved.

It has taken me along time but I am finally starting to appreciate some of their newer material . I just look at them as a progressive rock band now and not the
proto metal monster that I used to worship as a kid.

They have come full circle now DKW, they were hard rock/metal early in their career, but when 2112 came out, that showed they were moving towards progressive rock and stretching out. The Moving Pictures synth/hard rock period of their career is my favorite, but eventually they returned to more guitar based rock later.

They've been played a lot lately on TV and their concerts always have dryers tumbling on the back of their stage, good move, very different and easy to remember.
