Re: Roy Harper

I love this thread. I saw him some time ago with his son, what a
chilled, and thought provoking night. Chatting with the crowd, and
some fine music. I shall go through this from the start, when I have
more time this week. Nice one. :grinthumb

Re: Roy Harper

Would love to see him one last time, I remember a friend of mine shouting to him, "get on with it" and he replied, "I am getting on with it" classic:))

Re: Roy Harper

I've only gotten into the music of Roy Harper in the past five years or so. Not unlike John Martyn, I think of him as a contemporary artist, not a folkie, although they both started off in that vein. Two of Britain's finest, along with Richard Thompson.

Re: Roy Harper

You can get most of his albums now, I need a few more to complete my collection, I have seen him a few times. He is supposed to making a new album and maybe a few shows. I would love to see him again, he is a legend:)

If you don't have the budget to pick up all of the individual CDs, the Counter Culture anthology is an excellent 2 disc set covering material from his 1966 debut through the 2000 release, The Green Man. Harper put this collection together himself, and wrote the liner notes on all of the songs.
