^^ Agreed those are IMO the Johnny Winter works to chase up. Yeah I saw Johnny a few years ago and he had to be lead onto the stage where his seat was. However when he played it was something else.:grinthumb
Yeah poor old Johnny it's a shame about his health problems.

I've been listening to alot of Rory Gallagher lately. My latest purchase is Deuce
and it is another ripper. So far I have the first 2 Tastes albums, the S/T debut,
Deuce, Calling Card and Irish Tour. I not only love the hard rocking blues numbers but also his acoustic cuts as well. Here is one my favorites so far

The guitar work is phenomenal

^^^ That is a brilliant album DKW and I think that's an incredible track. Crest Of A Wave and There's A Light also knocked my cap off when I first heard them. Just a great record from start to finish IMO. :cheers2

It really is, although arguably not the hardest rockin' CD I own by Rory it
is definitely in the running for my favorite, so far.

Both are great tracks :grinthumb

I was talking to a rock fan friend of mine who watched a documentary on Gallagher and his impression (a fresh look at Rory from a non Rory fan) was that he was 'miss-managed' by his brother Donal and Rory would have been far more successful being managed by Peter Grant of Led Zeppelin.

I read that Peter Grant was interested in managing him and sent Richard Cole (Grant's right hand man) around on a number of occasions to see if Rory was interested?. I know that Gallagher didn't want to be managed by anyone other then Donal after being 'burned' by Eddie Kennady during his Taste years in Belfast but unfortunately Donal was 'small time' where as Peter Grant would have 'looked after' Gallagher far better.

I don't think money and the 'rock star' lifestyle interested Rory at all. Peter Grant may have looked after him better but Rory wouldn't have been interested in anybody else but Donal managing him.

Yeah thats probably true cos my friend reckons that Rory wasn't interested in being a "Rock star" as such and wanted to be known more as a serious "Country/blues" artist/musician of the likes of Leadbelly or Big Bill Bronzey although he still reckons that Rory was miss-managed by Donal which ulimately messsed up his musical career and meant that he ended up playng endless blues festivals & clubs all around europe till he feel ill and died.
