^^I like 90125 Vehicle, I like classic Yes as well and never did get onboard with the uproar about a commercially successful album that pretty much saved them from extinction.

Re: Rolling Stone Top Ten

I would add these for now:

Brain Salad Surgery by ELP
Nursery Cryme by Genesis
In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson
Atomic Rooster by Atomic Rooster
Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Fragile by Yes
Bedside Manners Are Extra by Greenslade
Fish Rising by Steve Hillage
Meddle by Pink Floyd

I've never thought of Rush as progressive.

Re: Rolling Stone Top Ten

Opposite for me I've always considered RUSH progressive hard rock.

I am really surprised to see that Steve Hillage album on your list, I don't mind his work in Gong, but that Fish album is in my top 5 worst I ever bought. I'm not sure even all these decades later I could manage to listen to it again.:peek

^ Listen to Salmon Song on Fish Rising, Bruce. It has one of the greatest riffs ever. I got into Hillage via Gong and he was fantastic live - prepared to play small clubs.

I know the song you mean, but can`t remember the name but even with that in it`s favor the rest of the album left no impression on me at all. I do have about 6 or more Gong albums though.:)

It's Salmon Song, I was writing gibberish there for a moment.

Gong are good too. I always liked space rock. Ozrick Tentacles are the modern equivalent.

Steve Hillage has some new stuff out and I don't like it at all:

^^That's not bad Martin, I'm not sure I was thinking of the right Hillage album...:hm:

I forgot to post my top ten so I'll do that first thing tomorrow morning, my memory is not getting any better with age.;)

Re: Rolling Stone Top Ten

Without further ado, here are ten of my all time favorite prog albums. Been thinking about this and it is always difficult to rank them in any kind of permanent order, with the exception of my all time favorite. I don't think any album will surpass it when it comes to my prog collection.

1. Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd
2. Fragile - Yes
3. Leftoverture - Kansas
4. ELP(Their debut) - ELP
5. Tales Of Mystery And Imagination - Alan Parsons Project
6. On The Threshold Of A Dream - The Moody Blues
7. Selling England By The Pound - Genesis
8. Eldorado - Electric Light Orchestra
9. Act One - Beggar's Opera
10. War Of The Worlds - Jeff Wayne

There are so many others I could have chosen but I wanted to list some bands that had been left out.
