When I think top 10, it's very personal for me. What's so great about music is my top 10 isn't going to necessarily equate to someone else's top 10.

1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
2. Styx - The Grand Illusion
3. Pink Floyd - The Wall
4. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
5. ELP - Brain Salad Surgery
6. Rush - Fly by Night
7. Asia - Asia
8. The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky
9. Jethro Tull - War Child
10. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

Alice Cooper has never been known as Prog Rock, but the band did release two very prog songs: "Black Juju" and "Halo of Flies".

I would have liked to include The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, as I consider the album as the godfather of the progressive rock movement, but I'm not sure a lot of others would agree with that notion.

Great Lists!!
I'm not deep into progressive music where I consider myself an expert( I could throw on "Nursery Cryme", Foxtrot, or "Wind & Wuthering" by Genesis & sit back & love them but if you asked me to name my favorite songs of the albums I couldn't name many songs other than "Your Own Special Way"). I DO have a list where I do know the albums front to back...

1) King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King

2) Rush - 2112

3) Kansas - Song for America

4) Yes - Fragile

5) Kansas - Left Overature

6) Rush - A Farewell to Kings

7) ELP - Brain Salad Surgery

8) Genesis - Duke

9) Yes - The Yes album

10) Jethro Tull - Aqualung

Some of my favorite tunes such as Tull's "The Minstrel in the Gallery", Floyd's "Astronomy Domine", & Crimson's "Lark Tongue in Aspic" albums didn't make my list. I do have to mention Be Bop Deluxe's "Axe Victim album because that would be number 11 for me

I can't put an order on this and frankly the list could change in a heartbeat but this is kind of fun so I'll bite:

Rush - Hemispheres
Crack the Sky - Animal Notes (or Safety in Numbers)
Pink Floyd - Saucerful of Secrets
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Yes - Relayer (or Going for the One)
Jethro Tull - Benefit (I would say This Was but it is more a blues based rock album than a progressive album)
Eddie Jobson - Zinc (the Green Album)
Nektar - Sounds Like This
Rush - Caress of Steel
Yes - Yes

I was considering putting Duke on my list as well, glad you posted it Bucky. That one and ABACAB are my 2 favorite latter day Genesis records.

OK, I'm going to do this again only with one album per band this time:

1. ELP-same
2.Genesis- Selling England by the Pound
3. Kansas-leftoverture
4. Yes-Close to the Edge
5. Camel-snowgoose
6. King Crimson-Lark's tongues in Aspic
7. Jon Anderson-Olias of Sunhillow
8. Marillion-Clutching at straws
9. Gentle Giant-Octopus
10. Pink Floyd-Wish you were Here

Some of those aren't quite personal favorites but ones I thought best represented the band(ie Relayer is my favorite Yes and these days A trick of the tail is my favorite Genesis).
