Re: Radiohead

^^I don't know how else to explain it CREAM'd, but when I play King of Limbs...it's almost like nothing happened. It leaves no lasting imprint on me either positive or negative, which is an extremely rare circumstance for me.

At this point in my life, with time at a premium I simply can't see myself listening to it when I can play any of their earlier albums that I really enjoy a lot more.

Re: Radiohead

I watched Glastonbury '97 on TV last night, excellent performance.

Radiohead were voted the greatest Glastonbury headliner act of all time :grinthumb

I hear the organizer of Glastonbury, Michael Eavis, said if he had to choose a best performance out of all the ones he's seen at Glastonbury over the decades it would be Radiohead.

Re: Radiohead

I've not heard anything from "Hail To The Thief" but considering how it's hitting people I'm still not in a rush to give it a shot. "The Bends" is my favorite album from them and they've drifted quite far away from what I love about that album. I mean, when over their last several albums did you hear anything like "Just"?

Re: Radiohead

I do wish that RH would do another guitar driven album...I think they have wandered off the reservation for long enough and a return to "the Bends" or "OK..." would be great.:D

Oh I agree 100%. I think they're having too much fun playing with their beeps and their boops though. :D

I'm pretty sure that the mentality of the band is to never look back and keep moving forward though, and if that's the case then it'll end up costing them a good amount outside of their very loyal, hardcore fans.

would love another guitar driven studio album. Live they still are as intense and still plenty of amusing guitar.

Re: Radiohead

^^According some of our RH experts in the forum, the last tour they made was excellent, nearly everyone feels they have really matured and put on a fantastic live show.

Now seein' CREAM'd has dusted this thread off, I will comment on "King of Limbs".

Unlike some of my best forum friends, I really like Radiohead, and have for a long time. I am also very patient, something I learned decades ago never to rush to any judgement on a new or old recording.

But I have to say that the new album has to rank as the Biggest disappointment of the year for me. The "Bonus" material did nothing to change my opinion. It's not that I hate the album, but when it comes time for my RH fix, I will not be reaching for this one very often if at all, it will go beside "Hail To The Thief" in the bottom tier of their discography.

Shame really, I had such lofty expectations and this new CD simply did not measure up.:(

If you had to chose between Hail To The Thief or The King Of Limbs?
I was just wondering as I listened to King Of Limbs earlier, and I'm now listening to Hail To The Thief.
