Re: Radiohead

If you had to chose between Hail To The Thief or The King Of Limbs?
I was just wondering as I listened to King Of Limbs earlier, and I'm now listening to Hail To The Thief.

I will get back to you tomorrow CREAM'd, I would have to play them both back to back again before I could give you an honest opinion...and I'm going to need some fortification to be able to do that...:hab:...and it's too early in the day here for that yet.:D

I'll let you know tomorrow.:grinthumb

Re: Radiohead

I do wish that RH would do another guitar driven album...I think they have wandered off the reservation for long enough and a return to "the Bends" or "OK..." would be great.:D

Oh I'd be so utterly thrilled I'd dance until my feet were raw :grinthumb

As much as I try I just cannot get into Radiohead's later albums anywhere near like The Bends and OK, Computer.

It was close, but "King of Limbs" edged out "...Thief" by a nose. Neither one is in my "must listen" category.

And Tray, couldn't you like go visit Yorke and Company and Demand a return to their roots? I see nothing wrong with a duplicate of either "The Bends" or "OK Computer", and I am sure their fans would go nuts if they did that for us.:D

That's what I thought,I'd rather have King Of Limbs.

Re: Radiohead

I have always heard that the holy trinity for Radiohead fans was "The Bends", "Ok Computer", and "Kid A". Now I own the latter two albums and love them, particularly "The Bends", but I had never heard "Kid A" until just a couple days ago. Going into it I expected it to follow up on "OK Computer" with the isolation theme and mixing electronic sounds in with their instruments and....I was about half right but I was not even half pleased. I hate "Kid A". I had to force myself to sit through it and was in a very irritable and unpleasant mood the whole time.

Sorry but I'll take "In Rainbows" over "Kid A" any day. :nw:

Re: Radiohead

Opposite for me, sorry you feel you wasted your money on Kid A.

Why didn't you listen to a few YT's before buying it?

I could have sent you an MP3 for free to listen to before you spent your hard earned cash.;)

Oh I didn't buy it. I borrowed it from someone. Trust me, I would've been really mad if I HAD bought it. :heheh:

Re: Radiohead

^^That turned out be a very good idea.

It's really tragic in a way, RH was so refreshing when they arrived and then from what I've gathered from various sources they Intentionally steered away from the sound of their first two records. To avoid being cast as the next greatest rock and roll band in the world.

So they went way off the map and I honestly can say they have blundered, instead of a few more gems they have given us some good tracks here and there, but fallen way short of the bar especially Hail and Limbs...oh well I fully expect them to split up soon anyway.

Re: Radiohead

I completely agree with you. What makes you think they'll break up though?

Re: Radiohead

The Bends, Pablo Honey, OK Computer, Kid A > than anything they've done since.

Also if Yorke was worried about repeating themselves then I think it's too late. I have been disappointed by Thief, Rainbows(To a lesser extent) and now Limbs.

It feels to me unless they do a kick ass guitar driven album then they might as well split up and go their separate ways. Of course that is only one man's opinion and I don't follow band gossip very closely.
