The people of Facebook have spoken and now, original Beatles drummer Pete Best will have a road named after him in Liverpool. After ten-thousand people supported the campaign on the social networking site, the city council have decided to name a street Pete Best Drive. They will name another road Casbah Close, in tribute of The Casbah Club, the venue that was instrumental in the Fab Four’s success, that Pete’s mom Mona set up. Pete told the BBC he is “very humbled, very flattered and very honored.”

I met him at the Casbah Club with his very cool brothers..his mum Mona opened her basement to her son Pete and his bandmates John , Paul and Wee Young George...


If NOT for the Best family helping them and giving them a place to play..well geeze thats a major flaw nobody KNOWS this ?

Pete Best is a very NICE person who really go f'd by certain people in the music business. I never believed it til I went there and met him. He deserves something for his contribution to history . For helping put Liverpool into the spot light and for giving his friends a chance to take over the world

It was amazing and I highly suggest a visit to any diehard fan..We got a personal tour from Petes' brothers Rory and Roag ..

Good for him, but I'm not sure why he "deserves" it.

He deserves it because he was with the Beatles when they broke into the big time, then was replaced at the last minute by Ringo. The Beatles were huge in Liverpool before Ringo waltzed into the picture, and Pete was a part of that. We all know it was mainly Lennon and McCartney, but Pete was a fan favorite.

He absolutely deserves--at least--this much. I'm happy for him.
