Well now we move on to the next album. 10 years after the first studio album "McCartney" and the break up of WINGS...Paul took this opportunity to go back and make an album at home. Which is what he did on his first debut album. Just play it all at home.

McCartny II would be the name of this gem, and yes I said gem. I know some rock fans and some McCartney fans don't hail this album as it should be hailed, but there are plenty that do so I don't mind.

One thing that was different than the first album was that it was 1980 now and pretty heavy on keyboard experimentation. As usual I like the way Paul is able to dabble in all styles of music here...from beautiful ballads, to rock tunes....Dancy numbers to the very electronic Devo-esque Temporary Secretary

Moving onward to Paul's next album. Well now that he got McCartney II underway and was back to being solo, Paul also got back to working with long time friend and producer George Martin for McCartney II's follow up, "Tug Of War".

I thought this was a well produced album. I mean c'mon it's George Martin!! A little help from Ringo didn't hurt either. At the top of the MTV game, Paul had worked it and got himself a huge video hit with Take It Away.

The album also had a couple good duets with Carl Perkins and Stevie Wonder

Right on MP. One thing puzzles me. The B-side to "Take It Away" was a gem called "I'll Give You A Ring". I love this song, and yet it hasn't been available since the single. It's not on any of his Best-Of's, it wasn't included as a bonus track on the reissues, it's not even on itunes. What gives?1327642519_6315061_ts1327644437.jpg

Yeah it's a gem alright...we'll post it here. My brother has the actual 45 with original sleeve.

Alright, let's move on to the next MACCA masterpiece!!! PIPES OF PEACE!!(again produced by George Martin) Kind of a hit and miss album with the fans again.

I love it. The variety here is all over the place as usual, AND this would be his HUGE duet with Michael Jackson, for all the MJ fans in the house!!!

Macca would go on to make a MOVIE (and soundtrack)! One he didn't seem to happy with later on. I thought and still think he did a good job, and watch it often. The story is fun, you get a whole lotta Paul for your money, and MUSIC!!

Not only do you get music, but you get new renditions of Beatles, Wings and Paul cuts! Ringo Starr, George Martin, Linda McCartney, Barbara Bach and Tracy Ullman all star in.....
