Pat Travers is from Canada but got his start in London. He was 20 years old and went to London to chase his dream with a black Fender Telecaster, a Marshall Amp, and a wah-wah pedal. Bought some recording time in London and earned a contract with Polydor Records.

The Debut "Pat Travers" was released in 1976. Pat and drummer Roy Dyke along with bassist Mars Cowling began touring in Europe. They quickly gained a huge fan following.

Don't laugh but my favorite Pat Travers album was the 2003 covers album, P.T. Power Trio.

Re: Pat Travers Band

I wont laugh, that is a great album, but I much prefer 1980's "Crash and Burn".

Have you heard his new album yet? It is really good. Very heavy with blues-rock :)

No...I'm gonna have to check it out. I was pretty big into him around 79 and I need to play some catch up here. I opened for him once. Good times. :grinthumb

Re: Pat Travers Band

I've always heard of Pat Travers from rock magazines or later from the internet but this is the first time when I am actually listening to him. And you know what: I like his hard rock blues style :grinthumb. Great discovery for me. Thanks Magic.

Re: Pat Travers Band

One of our best Canadian Blues rockers, but he learned his trade across the pond.

Crash & Burn is his best album, I also like Heat in the Street.

I just picked up a double CD of his greatest hits a couple of months ago, I'll have to play it later today.

I've heard some recent tracks from Pat Travers on Pandora and was blown away by them! I've been meaning to check out some more of that stuff, thanks for reminding me.
