Dimebag is terribly overrated. Yes, he was good at what he did, but people put him way over when he's not godlike on guitar. It's like Tupac and Biggie. They die and then people suddenly hail them as rap gods.

Vulgar Display of Power, and Cowboys From Hell are the only two CD's I have of Pantera. It does seem we attach more importance to an artist after they are tragically killed especially in their prime, human nature to not speak ill of the dead I guess.

Great band. Best albums are Vulgar Display of Power and Cowboys From Hell.

Dime was a great guitar player and a god but he is not THE BEST EVER like people proclaim.

    Re: Pantera

Pantera had four albums before Cowboys From Hell. All are very hard to find. They used to be much more glam in appearance before they went into their tougher look on Cowboys From Hell around 1990. But they were always kick-ass heavy.
Their second album Projects In The Jungle was pretty heavy and has Judas Priest influences.
