Re: Overkill

The other Thrash bands that have been around and steadily putting out CDs that have never drifted off course (even Kreator got side tracked for awhile ) would be Testament and Sodom.

Aside from Pink Floyd lately I am on a real appetite for thrash metal, seeking out albums from Metal Church, Kreator, Sodom, Mortal Sin. I hated being confined to just The Big Four so I wanted to expand and it was worth it for me. Love all these bands.

I have the up coming Overkill on pre-order at Amazon. I was thinking about buying the double green Vinyl version, which they have on a limited pressing, but then decided I didn't really feel like paying the conversion rate, and the extra shipping from Germany, on top of the price of the vinyl itself. Looking forward to getting this sure fire winner in the snail mail when it is released.

Got some Overkill tunes I love that are worth posting up, also from the new album which was just brilliant. It surpassed Ironbound for me but only just.

Infectious from Horrorscope that came in the mail today. Superb album.

Listened to Necroshine the other day, Stone Cold Jesus is a pretty damn good song, my favourite on the album next to My December.

From The Electric Age there was heaps of great material. Good Night was a good album closer.

From I Hear Black an under rated gem of an album. World of Hurt

And WFO I also gave a listen and enjoyed Supersonic Hate

Feeding Frenzy one of their more melodic tunes. Fantastic.

Really cool ballad of theirs.

I almost have the bands entire discography now, just have Immortalis to come through the mail and I'm happy.
Having listened to a fair chunk of their 90s stuff I have to say this band has not really changed away from their thrash roots. Maybe have a bit more groove but certainly still sound like their thrash roots as well. Anyone who says this band is not thrash and I have heard it before need to have their ears checked.
