Re: Nirvana & Kurt

If it wasn't for Nirvana, I wouldn't be here right now.

...
No, I don't mean I wouldn't be living...
I mean, I wouldn't be on these forums. Nirvana is what got me into music. It got me obsessed. It wasn't even as much the music. It was Kurt Cobain. I just, was so enticed by everything about him. I got so into Nirvana. I bought Nirvana belt buckles, Nirvana T Shirts(Wearing one right now ;P), put all their tracks on my iPod, changed my attitude, my outfits, just everything. Its what got me into music. After that, I started getting obsessed with other musicians. I'm not as into them as I was before, I still listen to them occasionally, and I still take out my Nirvana smile shirt and wear it to school every once in a while, but I've gotten into a lot of other bands. Anyways, I probably bored you all to death there with my life story. I'll stop now.

Not at all LXA, that is common for young people in general to "Attach" themselves to a particular band, it's almost a necessity when you are getting started. I was never into collecting t-shirts etc., seeing we didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up, I spent all my allowance on albums, and Mom would give me a book about one of my favorite bands at Christmas every year, until I got a job and had plenty cash to buy whatever albums I wanted.:D

Re: Nirvana & Kurt

I love Nirvana. They're one of my fav bands.
I don't even want to pick a fav album. I have them all and I love them all.
Some of my fav songs are on a plain, school, stay away, dumb, polly,..... all of them really:grinthumb

Nirvana changed my outlook on life.

It's basically:

get stoned and jam out and have fun and **** the government

Re: Nirvana & Kurt

Love Nirvana, especially unplugged, but I do feel they were somewhat overrated. Kurt was a great songwriter, but he wasn't the "spokesman for a generation". I think they would have lasted longer if everyone hadn't treated them like the second coming.

That's why he challenged his fans with "In Utero". He tried to make it less radio friendly than "Nevermind" and hoped to only have the real fans left and not just the followers.

Whats kind of ironic is he wrote In Bloom about the people who started liking Nirvana after there Bleach album. Yet the song was extremely catchy and people would often sing along with the chorus.

Re: Nirvana & Kurt

i have never understood how Kurtcould be a voice of a generation when he was one of the most incoherent singers after to obtain mainstream success. IMO if he was still living he would be a mainstay on celebrity rehab and make scott weiyln look like an amatuer drug abuser. His songwriting imo was nonsense because most of his lyrics didnt was oxy morons anyway, WTF does a mosquito have to to with libido
