It's a pretty nice song for first single. I really can't wait to hear the rest of the songs.

I get that the newer stuff isn't for everyone.

I loved the Anette era personally and will love what Floor brings. I don't judge an album based on one song.

Im basing my opinion on years of what in my opinion has been boring non-symphonic non-metal material. Since they fired Tarja they haven't put anything I consider worthy of the Nightwish name.

I probably will give the CD a listen but my expectation is now next to zip...

Usually the single should never be their best song anyway. I'm hoping the rest of the album will be different too.

It's funny, the first "new" Xandria album Neverworld's End led with Valentine, which was the most powerful song on equally great album.

The next release, Sacrificium, led off with Dreamkeeper. A good song, but not as amazing as the second release Nightfall, or any of several other tracks.

Maybe they wanted to really point up the new sound on NE, and I've grown to love Dreamkeeper, but wouldn't have led off with it at the time.

And Xandria is a good example as any, as they're more Nightwish than Nightwish nowadays.

I own both Anette/NW albums and they're great folk metal albums.

Nightwish are one of the biggest examples where some fans are resistant to change. lol
If the result is not to their liking to each their own but to act like a band shouldn't be allowed to change their sound is laughable.
    Metal is about evolution.

And might I friggin preface this by saying I was not directing it at anyone in here. General thing I see among the Nightwish fanboys of the Tarja era though.

They can change all they want too but I can also think that those changes are boring and that they suck all I want too.
That's something some fans don't seem to understand....no one is obligated to like them just because they did before they changed their sound.

Nightwish were once a vital exciting innovative powerhouse. Now they are a boring middle of the road act...just my opinion of course...but one l feel very strongly.

You might want to read my post again. lol

Nowhere in what I said was anyone obligated to like it. I said quite the opposite. And I also said it wasn't directed at anyone in here.
