ICED EARTH-The Plaugues of Babylon

A lot people are saying it is a let down after Dystopia

I feel the exact opposite. I liked "Dystopia", but there was something lacking, not just the vocals of Matt. “Plagues of Babylon” blew me away and almost.... ALMOST made me forget about Matt - that will never really happen! A thoroughly great album and probably overall their best album since “Horror Show” (I don’t care what people say, I LOVE that album – being a huge horror fan helps!). I do have to add though, that the “ Gettysburg (1863)” trilogy from “The Glorious Burden” is one of my all-time favourite Iced Earth compositions, but I do not feel that the rest of the album is on par.
"Plagues of Babylon" is definitely one of the best metal releases of 2014!

@Sharp Dressed Man , exactly how I feel. Also,I saw this tour live ...Stu is AMAZING live and as u say
ALMOST made me forget Matt Barlow. Thats not really going to happen for me either. And yeah, I think you have to be a horror fan to even get metal at all. Either that or you will most likely take Its themes far too seriously.
