Do any of you guys (still) buy music magazines and if so, which one(s)? I used to buy quite a few magazines every month, but I’ve cut down considerably. Not so much because of the digital age, but because it came to the point where I would buy several magazines and never find time to read them.

Now I only buy Classic Rock Magazine regularly although I’ve skipped a couple of issues over the years, whenever I found the content uninteresting. Apart from that, I’ll pick up the odd random magazine here and there, for example one of the CR spin-offs like Blues, Country (I think that one is dead already), the Lynyrd Skynyrd special a few years ago and the more recent Bad Company. Other recent buys: The two latest issues of Mojo Magazine. This month because of a huge Kate Bush article and last month because of a huge CNSY article + CD. I also bought the recent "country issue" of Rolling Stone with Miranda Lambert on the cover.

Back in the '70s and '80s it was New Musical Express. These days it's 'Classic Rock'. Also I like the hard copy. I don't want to be looking at that stuff on a phone or a laptop, though I do check out a lot of websites for news.

The only two I buy on a regular basis are Shindig and Ugly Things. I pick up Classic Rock a lot of the time also. Others like Prog ,Metal Hammer or Mojo I'll get occasionally.

Never.

In the 80's I bought Circus and Hit Parader on a regular basis. Always thumbed through Kerrang! and Creem but only bought those on occassion. I did read Rolling Stone on a regular basis from probably the mid 80's to the early 90's, then I got so sick of their political bullshit and their stand on certain forms of music, I decided that it was a rag that wasn't worthy of being used as toilet paper in an outhouse.

From a guitarist point of view, I bought Guitar For the Practicing Musician for probably 6 or 7 years. Had a subscription for much of that time. I also bought Guitar World when it looked like a good issue, but never had a subscription to it. I'd also buy Guitar Player from time to time, but it wasn't very often.

When I was a kid I bought "Circus", "Creem", "Crawdaddy" and "Music Scene" religiously. Now, I have a subscription to "Rolling Stone" and that's about it. Once in a while I'll stop at the local bookstore (Vroman's) and pick up a British rock mag like "Mojo" or "Q". I like the Brit mags quite a bit.
