Re: The OFFICIAL Led Zeppelin Thread

I love II, because of hard rock masterpieces and III because it discovers the other side of Zepps, IV is brilliant album too, although I like II and III better.

I guess each to their own but whatever is said, Zep's record sales and gate receipts speak volumes. In short when it came to the critics the guys just let the music do the talking.

Exactly. I love their "commercial suicide" thing and how they made one of the greatest albums ever (IV) without even printing band's name on vinyl. They just let the music do the talking ;)

Released in 1971 a monster of an album and finally the critics agreed.

Led Zeppelin
Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
June 7, 1977

"Rawhide" source remastered
AUD SQ 8

The Song Remains The Same
The Rover>Sick Again
Nobody's Fault But Mine
In My Time Of Dying
Since I've Been Loving You
No Quarter
Ten Years Gone
Battle Of Evermore
Going To California
"Rawhide" teaser
Black Country Woman
Bron Y Aur Stomp
White Summer>Black Mountain Side
Kashmir
Over The Top
Noise Solo
Achilles Last Stand
Stairway To Heaven
Whole Lotta Love
Rock And Roll

"Bonus Track":
No Quarter (alternate "Artie" source, worth it for their usual stoned patter )

First night of the six show MSG '77 run. Pretty decent stereo recording, and a nice performance to boot. Includes the fourth and final "Nutrocker" section in "No Quarter". And I have to wonder who it was that Plant saw in the audience inspiring the "Rawhide" shtick...

Re: The OFFICIAL Led Zeppelin Thread

I don't like Zeppelin as much as I used to but I still give IV and Houses of the Holy some love.
