I almost abstained from this one Jen...but I'll take II.

My reason...I like more of the songs on it than IV, by the narrowest of margins.

Black Dog is my all time favorite Zeppelin tune though.

Gotta go with IV. Stairway to Heaven and Black Dog are big contributors to that decision.

Two blinding albums but I think for me the second album just edges it .. I like the big riffs and as John Paul Jones said at the time Page was knocking monster riffs out for fun during the improvised sections of the live shows, the best of which went into the studio. Where Jimmy Page and Eddie Kramer weaved their magic .. I love the raw energy of this album.

II. Because it has a better flow then the first one and therefore a definitive Led Zep album. IV for me has some weak songs like the folky ballads. All in all II has the better and stronger songs.

I chose IV because I think there's a better cross section of styles represented as opposed to II where you have mostly heavy blues and ballads which IMO, can get tiring after awhile. Although II does have one of my favorite Zep songs ever, Bring it On Home.

Now if it would have been between III and IV, there would have been a different outcome.:)

II, because doesn't contain the most boring song ever made by Led Zeppelin. :heheh:

Two fantastic albums and very hard to choose. Though going to go with II being there isn't one bad song on it IMO. Like all of the songs on IV with the exception of Four Sticks.
