I appreciate that she hasn't just done Born to Die part II. This one goes more in the direction of dream pop, with a floating atmosphere. I miss the heavy beats, the hip hop (weird, I know), the really surprising moments and a bit more variety in her vocals, but none the less, I would not call the album a disappointment. She had promised change and she did, not necessarily for the worse, just different. I would probably rate Born to Die 9/10, so this one is an 8-8,5/10.

I've heard this song on the radio a few times and I thought it was creepy enough to be Lana Del Rey funnily enough. :D

I think the only reason I enjoy this song is for the Psychedelic Change when she goes into the Chorus and the eerie keyboard at the end of the song. :D

What did I spook everyone out with a forbidden song or something?

Everything just seemed to go quiet in this thread all of a sudden. :heheh:

    Sorry about that!

If you like that song, I reckon' you would like most of the new album! I still listen to the album regularly and I really enjoy it, but like I said above, I miss some of the elements from the first album, or at least a bit more variety - especially in her vocals, but I think she realised that she could not pull off the vocal acrobatics from “Born To Die” live. :D I'd still rate the new one around 8,5.

Yeah I'm not sure. I like the "West Coast" song now, though I start to worry when the novelty of the song wears off. It's usually worse when I hear the song all the time.

There might be something going for her since I posted "Summertime Sadness" earlier, so I might be worth looking into downloading MP3s of them or something.

Do you like it? Not sure if I do. Kind of bland but could grow on me. I do like the first track leaked for that a lot better. :)

Oh, I like it very much! I actually prefer the new track over the first one, which is not to say the first one was not great. I think this track has kindda the same vibe as her "Born to Die" album, there's more variety in the vocals, whereas the first track sounded more like something of "Ultraviolence".
