The Platypus albums are excellent...and I had forgotten about the Jelly Jam albums. I need to listen to Jelly Jam again - I haven't listened to them in for ever.
I've reached the conclusion, after listening to alot of the solo/side projects of the King's X guys, that Ty Tabor is most responsible for the King's X sound and style. He's the strongest writer in the bunch and his killer tone and playing style follow him through all the various side projects. Doug Pinnick and Jerry Gaskill are outstanding instrumentalists and Doug Pinnick is a vocal giant as far as I'm concerned, but for my money, Ty Tabor is the "X" factor that makes King's X work.
