A sweet voice yes... but always haunted by a tragic saddness.
She'd likely be alive today if the record moguls could have left her
behind the safety of her drum kits.

She would have been an interesting replacement for John Bonham.

The lobby of the Ritz hotel.
Karen was not only a musician - she was an artist.

Her voice is the only one that makes me so happy and so sad at the same time. Funny to see this thread bumped when I went on a Carpenters binge last night before bed. Good old fashioned sulking music.

I dare say she was my first love. ♥

I like the mushy stuff from the yesterday once more comp... its weird because its a polar opposite of the usual stuff i listen to (grunge, 90s alt, late 80 punk, some metal) but the songs are so well made its hard not to like them :D
now i feel dorky. sadness :O

She had a great voice and her music was excellent and timeless, another one gone way too soon. There are not many of them left now:(

Love The Carpenters. Karen had the most angelic voice I've ever heard and was an incredibly talented drummer to boot. I wish female singers today were more like her, wanting to make great music and not just to make millions and look fabulous on TV.

Now I'm gonna post not only my favorite song they did but hers too. I heard they got hate mail after putting this song out as people accused them of trying to be "hard rock". The truth was though, Karen loved this type of stuff just as much as the ballads.

Goodbye To Love
