Paul McCartney by infinite miles, and he didn't even have to try to rule by such a margin, since John was a less than mediocre embarrassment as a solo artist.

Paul was more successful than the rest of the Beatles put together when it comes to his solo career. They all have one or two gems they recorded though so I can't agree with TC about everything John did being mediocre.

Have to go for Paul,although if George Harrison was included,i would have voted for him. As a solo artist i personally dont like any of John Lennons work,apart from maybe jealous guy.
I actually know a few people, who like John Lennons solo work, but dont like the Beatles!
