Joe is from my neck of the woods, but I haven't heard him play since he was a child prodigy. I was at this 1989 show where he played Danny Gatton's Telecaster. He was 12 years old at the time. I'm on the right wearing the light colored shirt.

Re: Joe Bonamassa

He is coming to a theater near me but the cheapest tickets are 70 dollars. That is out of my price range.

Tickets are running about $130 for his Nov 1st performance @ The Brady....too much for me too, I`ll pass! :wtf:

^ On this basis, what are they charging for Black Country Communion tickets? There seem to be a number of child prodigies who are amazing at an early age and then they disappear, but Bonamassa is clearly an exception.

This post has been slightly modified.

Another (boring) guitar star.

Saw this on Joe's FB page:
The Syracuse New Times says " I lack passion for my music ,don't respect my band members and I haven't payed my dues." I cannot tell you how offensive this is to both myself my family, my band and all of you who know me. I really find it amusing that the only reviews I get of this nature are in or around my hometown. (Ex: that moron in Albany) . To sum up.. Jessica Novak you suck and so does the Syracuse New Times for printing that. We are done.

Anybody heard the new Bonamassa yet? I bought it yesterday and had my first listen later in the evening with my girlfriend. It sounds fantastic. Mind you, that was a first listen.

Listened to the new one some more and it's fantastic!!

Here's the fabulous title track - Driving Towards The Daylight:

Parts of the lyrics - composed by Joe:

Look upon a mountain,
waitin' on a train.
Baby I know it was wrong,
and it still happened again
Waiting on my destiny,

learning from my abilities.

Who was wrong and

who was right and

do we even know why we are fighting?

So take your eyes off of me

and look upon the churning sea.

Driving towards the daylight,

running from the midnight,

trying to get my way home.

Running from the spotlight,

trying to find the daylight,

trying to get back home.
Rusty strings on my old guitar,

speaks volumes of who you are.

So never did I think it was you

It was me, one of the chosen few

Who will it be, oh the next time?

Beautiful song and a great album. It is definitely a grower for me with every spin.
