Jimmy Page irked at the London Olympics

Led Zeppelin guitar legend Jimmy Page isn't very pleased with
the London Olympics these days.

Page helped promote the London event at the closing ceremony
of the Beijing Olympics, where he performed “Whole Lotta Love”
next to a red double-decker bus with UK singer Leona Lewis.

The Telegraph reports the guitarist is very “upset” that he has
not been invited to attend, let alone perform at, the opening
ceremony of the London Games.

“Of course, I’m feeling rather hurt,” he tells Mandrake at the
Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the Arts at the Royal Academy.
“We put so much into Beijing, but weren’t helped by the Chinese
giving us next-to-no practice time.”

The London Olympics run July 27 through August 12.

10 bucks says Paul McCartney will be there though. Much love and respect for Jimmy (obviously) but given his past and the risque nature of some of the things he did I think they want more wholesome artists representing the country.

That's just my opinion though.

Thats' too bad for Jimmy Page...

I think ILJP is prob right tho..he's not as squeaky clean as Macca is..but it's been a long time..alot of people have forgotten about his past ..

I mean Mick Jagger isn't so clean either and they knighted him..?
Just saying..it sounds like a communication breakdown ? No Pun intended ..

Maybe Jimmy should ring them up and say wtf ?

Sad not to see much loved Jimmy Page.
Would have been a blast had the likes of Page, Plant, Macca, Mick Jagger, Clapton all perfomed.
Instead who we get? Probably Cheryl Cole, Jedwards??? (I don't know the lineups for opening and closing gigs).

Meh... It is unfortunate but he should instead concentrate on doing something about his suspended career.

I won't be watching any of the Olympics,,,so it doesn't bother me at all that Jimmy's being snubbed by the Nobs who are running the show.

I will be watching the Euro and Tour de France though.

I love Paul but to be honest he IS a butt kisser ! I mean , trust and believe John Lennon watched The Queens Jubilee and laughed his sarcastic arse off ..

I find Olympics largely boring to be honest (bar few events..) so doesn't matter that much I guess. Euro should be fun but will be over by the time Olympics starts though.
