Jimi Hendrix film opens SIFF 2014

SEATTLE, Wa. — The 40th annual Seattle International Film Festival has arrived and Jimi Hendrix will be making his mark on Seattle once again.
“Jimi: All Is By My Side” will be on the big screen opening night at SIFF.
The film depicts the life of Seattle-born “Jimi Hendrix, before he was Jimi Hendrix.”

It focuses on a year when Hendrix moved to London in the 1960s and evolved into a spectacular rock star; at the time, he was nothing more than a backup guitarist.
The movie was directed by Academy Award winner John Ridley (“12 Years a Slave) and showcases Outkast’s Andre’ Benjamin as Jimi Hendrix.

Listening to Bold as Love @ the moment .Such a great album, haven't listen to any of hendrix collection in along time. Need to make pulling out all my Hendrix vinyl, I purchased a while back, cleaning 'em up and spinning them a musical propriety.

Has anyone ever heard any of the collaborations between ol' Jimi and Arthur Lee of LOVE fame?

I have heard of them (recordings), but that is an elusive trail to follow. Most of the music is bootleg quality (some better than others) and it is difficult to verify the authenticity of the tunes.

The two did hang out a lot together, and I believe they influenced each other.

I found the picture online, but I do believe it is also used as a cover photo for the bootleg "Blue Thumb" acetate.
