Yeah I know that and I know the song. I just never made the connection. But it's there...wasn't paying enough attention to it. But very cool trivia.

In actual fact i like both songs METALPRIEST Jimi's DOLLY DAGGER and Alice Cooper's ELECTED.

Infact i'd go further with regards to Alice Cooper and say that ELECTED is my favourite Alice Cooper song along with HELLO HOORAY & BILLION DOLLAR BABIES all three tracks featured on the BILLION DOLLAR BABIES album from 1973. :grinthumb

What's even funnier to think about is that Elected was a take off of Reflected which was a take off of Dolly Dagger :heheh:

Not the same beginning really...but a Hendrix quality still.

Alice's guitar-intro to ELECTED has a kinda 'twisted spin' on it and is also played slightly higher as well as opposed to DOLLY DAGGER to give it a kinda 'flakey/nutty' flavour to go with the crazy lyrics from Alice.

I always liked Jimi's posthumous released vinyl albums the CRY OF LOVE, RAINBOW BRIDGE, WAR HEROES & LOOSE ENDS (not released in the USA) also the Alan Douglas albums CRASH LANDING & MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING (Midnight lightning had a couple of interesting tracks in Trashman & Machine gun on it).

All these vinyl albums were eventually deleted and although they were all originally released on the cd format during the 1980s they in turn were all deleted when EXPERIENCE HENDRIX took charge of Jimi's recorded works/back catalogue in the mid-1990s.

I like them too, now. I was quite a purist for many years concerning Hendrix's work, and actually avoided the Alan Douglas stuff for quite some time.

I wouldn't suggest them to new found Hendrix fans though, in my humble opinion.

Even though EXPERIENCE HENDRIX 'cleaned up' Jimi's recorded back catalogue it's not as interesting as it use to be in some respects, granted they (EXPERIENCE HENDRIX) have released some interesting cds over the last 10-15 years but onetime as well as the 'official releases' from Polydor records in the UK and Warner/Reprise in the USA there was also the Mike Jeffries 'posthumous' released records/cds and the Alan Douglas records/cds like Crash Landing & Midnight Lightning plus material from the Curtis Knight pre-1966 era (usually released in interesting record sleeves with a big picture of Jimi on the front) as well as records that were released on obscure record lables like Ember records and such like.
