Dave Davies has ruled out any possibility of being involved in any sort of Kinks reunion.

Talking to the Daily Mail, the guitarist has also revealed the depth of the animosity between him and his brother Ray.

“You’ve heard of vampires. Well, Ray sucks me dry of ideas, emotions and *creativity. It’s toxic for me to be with him. He’s a control freak… The last time we were all together was at my 50th birthday party. Ray had the money and I didn’t, so he offered to throw it for me. Just as I was about to cut the cake, Ray jumped on the table and made a speech about how wonderful he was. He then stamped on the cake.

“I think the music is so beautiful it shouldn’t be tainted. It would be a shame. You don’t need to see silly old men in wheelchairs *singing You Really Got Me.”

I've heard a few stories about Ray Davies being a real dick and/or a control freak. I guess I have no problem believing this to be true based on the other stuff I had read a few yrs back.

Ray Davies is the quintessential "Git" or "Plonker", and always has been. The only good thing attached to his legacy is the great music the Kinks have left us to enjoy.

I have read numerous stories about Ray's exploits when he was a young man, and he has not changed much over the years after reading what he did at his brothers birthday party.

The image of Ray Davies shouting "I AM THE GREATEST PERSON EVER!!!" while stomping on his brother's birthday cake is just...classic.

^^He would be missing a few teeth and need hospital attention for numerous broken bones if he did something like that to me on my birthday in front of family and friends, no matter if he paid for the party or not.

Ray Davies = No class.

He treats women like trash as well, another reason I have nothing but contempt for him.

People need to leave this reunion crap alone. Its selfish meddling and Dave knows it. Not only that, the company he would have to keep is something he is far from interested in.

I'm glad they wont reunite, I have plenty of AMAZING live albums from the Kinks, which more than satisfy me.

^^I agree with you, the Kinks legacy is fine there is no need to get together again, just because I think Ray is a Git doesn't mean they didn't release some great albums over the years.
