Great Album, Then They Were Gone

[Big Ears]

By this I mean a band or artist who made one great album:

- and split
- and perhaps a few that were disregarded for a variety of reasons
- in a particular style
- with one lineup

For example, I was thinking of Everybody's Crazy by Michael Bolton, which was a hard rock album before he hit paydirt with blue-eyed soul. His singing is always good, but I would like to hear him make another rock album.

Captain Beyond made a brilliant first album, but subsequent efforts had different lineups. Their story is one of rock music's great tragedies.

Alphataurus also made a good first album, started a second and split. They reformed, but were not as good.
