One of my favorite underrated bands is the "Royal Guardsmen", known for their huge hit from 1966, "Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron." People thought they were a bubblegum, novelty band, when they actually did some pretty good pop songs. I also think that "the Association" is kind of overlooked.

Bob Kuban
Timmy Khouri (aka Tiny Tim)
Mytch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels
The Standells
Napoleon XIV (Coming to Take Him Away..) (the flip side of his 45 had the song in reverse - weird dude)
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (the "God of Hellfire" who was probably separated at birth from N-XIV)
The Shadows

and
Screamin' Lord Sutch- (an actual Lord of the British Peerage or so he reminded everyone)
who is forgotten because he just screamed and never sang a song and claimed he invented "Beatle Hair"
I remember one of his albums liner had photos of "names" (like Jimmy Page) who he somehow blackmailed into guesting with his band - every one of them looked like they wanted to crawl off and die of embarrassment

glad to see Paul Revere and Co. remembered
the "Last Madman of Rock and Roll" is still touring and coming up on 50 years since the beginning of the Raiders
- there is a dispute whether the landmark "Louie Louie" was the creation of the Kingsmen or the Raiders
- and the first recognized guitar solo was performed by the Raiders

lest I forget Cat Stevens - he was around in the 60s with a band called New Masters
before he totally lost his mind

Some of those bands aren't even close to have been forgotten.

Really? I've seen quite a few on here that I've not forgotten. From my list, I guess I could remove The Doors, Steppenwolf, and The Bee Gees as just about any classic rocker would know them. Although I wonder how many people knew the Bee Gees before their disco years? The rest I figure could be forgotten by any number of people.

You havin' a bad hair day or something?:D

Nope, but also The Hollies, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and The Searchers certainly aren't forgotten either.
