I've never heard of the Wonders, but that made me think of the fact that since this thread started, I have discovered the Wondermints (best known for their work as back-up musicians for Brian Wilson). They have emerged as my absolute favorite 90s music. Their selt-titled debut album from 1996 is pretty much a universal "critic's darling". I just got to hear it since Christmas (it's very hard-to-find), and I've totally flipped over it (I already had their other two albums, both of which are excellent as well).

psst.... most of those bands started in the 80s :p

good call on the beta band though. too bad they went the way of the manic street preachers.

I never realised the thread was subjected to only bands that started in the 90's you idiot. Still, theres only about 4 from my list that actually did.

And yeah, The Beta Band are awesome.

yer, well I used to be a huge prog fan... but Ive always been a bit of a alternative geek, and my favorite band is The Beatles, and you can't get anymore classic that that can you?
