That's a fast turnaround for EMI...they sure seemed intent on selling it a few days ago. Still 30 or even 100 millions euros wouldn't be enough to even dent the debt load EMI is carrying that's why selling off Abbey Road didn't make sense. I'm not sure who they expect to "Inject" capital into a studio that is not making a profit, for now I am still waiting to see how this all plays out in the end.

The debt load for EMI is $4 billion. They will need to do more than walk tour groups through it unless they charge $4,000 a head for the first million visitors. And that doesn't include the new costs of operations. They need to make music there.

I was meaning whomever bought Abbey Road off of EMI, rather than EMI themselves turn it into a museum. All that would take is one of those rich business types (Murdoch, Gates, whichever one happens to be a Beatles/music fan) to make it happen.

But as it's not for sale apparently, it's a bit of a moot point :D

Sad to see it go, but they are in huge debt.

Last I heard, Andrew Lloyd Webber is interested. And still McCartney. And a trust fund.

It's just silly when it all boils down to a bottom line for a company. The past 50-100 years... the times that has been the argument for shutting down something we all miss today.
