I was reading his bio, and discovered he died in 2003 from stab wounds to the chest. What was interesting about his death is he stabbed himself in the chest.
Yeah, he's definitely one of the most interesting artists i've listened to. I personally really love his cover of The Beatles. It's done very well for what it's worth.
^From A Basement On A Hill is freaking amazing. Either/Or is pretty good as well, i'd say that Figure 8 is probably my favorite album by him though, with Either/Or taking 2nd.
All his work is amazing, I just wish he could still be here to continue to make great music. At least he left great music for his fans to continue to enjoy.
when this came out after Elliott died I was in tears.
From A Basement On The Hill
Saw Elliott a few times in the few years before his death. I will always remember the last one. Near the end he asked if we wanted to hear an old song or a new one. A few people yelled out an old one or named an old tune. I said no play a new one and he smiled. I thought that Elliott looked quite depressed that day but still had fire in his playing and songs.

^I'm jealous that you got to see him before his death. I would have loved to see him perform live.
I can imagine how great he performs. He's definitely one of a kind when it comes to indie folk rock. Both him and Conor Oberst are incredible. Luckily, Oberst is still alive and making music.
I'm not ashamed to say that I do tear up to a lot of his music. Even if some of it is upbeat, his voice is just so...emotionally captivating.
