I didn't really get to see MTV till about 1981-1982. It was probably in lighter rotation by 82.

As far as radio, like I said, I usually remember big hits. Maybe Chicago DJ's didn't like the song

Who remembers Gary Neuman,the British new wave star who gave us the wonderful hit "Cars",a song that sounds just about as 80's as anything can get

The original version of Cars was released in the late seventies, but the eighties (E-reg) version had a bit more punch.
