Seriously, I have been trying to collect some hard to find disco by one of the greatest producers of disco....Hamilton Bohannon.

Disco...What can I say????...In the mid 70's I bought 45's every week & so did my sister who is 6 years older. It didn't matter if it was disco or not I loved the top 40 AM radio hits. The first single I ever bought was "Rubberband Man" by the Spinners:

Other 45's I bought back then:

I loved that music but then I discovered Kiss,Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, & Cheap Trick & soon once Saturday Night Fever took off the whole DISCO SUCKS thing was into full bloom amongst the Rock crowd & I jumped on that bandwagon. I can remember looking forward to 5 PM on Fridays when Q FM 96.9 would blow up a disco record on the air.

I remember it was sometime in 1982 when I was 20 I was making friends at the local super market where I began working. My friends told me to meet them at a bar called the Racket Room so I show up there wearing a ZZ Top T shirt, faded Levis, & Cowboy Boots. I walk in to the place & everyone has dress shirts & designer jeans on & the place is cranking out this awful disco/dance crap which I was against. I hated it but after a couple of weeks I kind of got into it a bit because a couple of girls I worked with literally dragged me on the dance floor. I had no idea how to move but I couldn't believe I was communicating with these girls. The first song I danced to was "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters & within a few more weeks I was able to last through the 15 minute extended dance version of "You Dropped a Bomb on Me". So I did enjoy those old disco hits once again & even in a fun kind of way I enjoyed the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack

I like any song with a good beat but I have to admit I was never a disco fan. It was a fun music especially if you liked to dance. Someone posted Vicki Sue Robinson earlier. I kind of liked that song. Here's one that I remember:

I wouldn't mind doing "the bump" with Magic. But she'd probably go flying out the door. :lmao:
