I really loved that "Green River" album, especially this song:

Lodi is a great song! Nice choice Ringo :D

that song is written about Lodi, California. It is one of those small "nowhere towns" where bands start playing gigs in bars. John Fogerty picked this title for that reason and also because as a kid he was made to go to Camp Lodi and hated it.

With so much great music from CCR, it's hard to believe they were only together for five short years. I guess recording two albums per year helps.

I never tire of listening to Effigy and Heard It Through The Grapevine.

I could never really get into these guys, no matter how much I tried. I don't know why.

Re: Creedence Clearwater Revival

I have a similar thing with the Doors Foxy, I have their greatest hits, and play it once in a blue moon, but something just doesn't work for me, and seeing the hordes of Doors fans out there I'm sure they think there's a screw loose somewhere...;)

Cosmos Factory, the essential CCR album is the one I would recommend to anybody just starting with these guys, and play it a couple of times at least before you park it on the back shelf, I always try to be fair before I give up on an artist, unless the instinct to "Hurl" is just too strong of course.:heheh:

Re: Creedence Clearwater Revival

I got my Dad a CCR Greatest Hits album cause I thought he'd enjoy it. I think he's a bit like me and enjoys a few of their songs, though I ever really got stuck right into the band. Which is a pity cause they sort of have that Eagles/Byrds/Youngbloods sound about them, but I guess I just find the lyrics to their songs difficult to follow! :(

I got my dad this album for Christmas lol
He already has a greatest hits CD, but I figured he'd appreciate this one
