John Fogerty Website

CCR consisted of:

John Fogerty
Tom Fogerty
Stu Cook
Doug Clifford

They got together in 1967 and disbanded in 1972. Actually this week will mark the 37th anniversary of the bands break up, October 16th. Another little factoid about this group; Stu, Doug, and John all were born in 1945 and went to the same high school.

They have stood the test of time, their music spanding more than 4 decades. They are members in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame since 1993.

Discography:

1968 Creedence Clearwater Revival
1969 Bayou Country
1969 Green River
1969 Willy and the Poor Boys
1970 Cosmo's Factory
1970 Pendulum
1972 Mardi Gras

Their southern style, swamp rock is what appeals to many fans, including myself.

My favorite album:

I'm a big fan of CCR, especially the drumming of Doug "Cosmo" Clifford.

I love their first album which included covers of "Suzie-Q" (Dale Hawkins) and "I Put a Spell on You" (Screamin' Jay Hawkins) ..

Another great CCR album:

Green River (1969)

Rolling Stone Magazine rates this album #96 on the top 500 greatest albums of all time.

a funny little factoid on this song...it has some misheard lyrics "there's a bathroom on the right" and John Fogerty sang that in concert once during the Premonition concert.

Re: Creedence Clearwater Revival

my favorite song is "Up Around The Bend"

and do they have a bad album?
I have a good number of songs by them but no full albums, but there is at least one song from every album, and I haven't found one I don't like...
This band was very ahead of their time though

Cosmos Factory is my favorite, and I have a 2 CD compilation of their greatest hits as well.

I've never heard their music referred to as "swamp rock", but I like it!

Yeppers, Fox, they sure are "Swamp Rock" or "Swamp Pop". This is an ambiguous genre. But for my own purposes, it means southern rock n' roll
