I'm putting together a Christmas Eve special and have come across some pretty off the wall Christmas Songs like these:
  • Back door Santa Bon Jovi
  • December Will Be Magic Again Kate Bush
  • I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus John Cougar Mellancamp
  • Mistress For Christmas AC/DC

There's supposed to be a Jethro Tull Christmas Album around....any ideas?

Any other suggested tracks or albums gratefully appreciated.

Mind you anything by Kate Bush gets played by me ;)

Okay, so it's not classic rock but Crash Test Dummies did "Little Drummer Boy" and I rather liked it. The only time I've heard it, though, was when Kurt Browning was skating to it on some ice skating Christmas special.

I just love the singer's voice.

Bob Seger did a great cover of Little Drummer Boy. I'm thing Tom Petty did a Christmas song, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the Feedback.

Nearly everything mentioned is playlisted, I am afraid Paul McCartney didn't make it for two reasons, one it's a 'standard' played in nearly every shop and supermarket and we're trying to go for unusual tracks and secondly because for some reason, and I don't know why, and I disagree with them, but our audience has a habit of switching channels whenever we play 'Maccer'.

For interest we have "Christmas All Over Again" by Tom Petty already in the list, as for the Beach Boys, I could have gone for 'Little Saint Nick', but that again's a 'standard' so i've slotted 'Santa's Beard' .

Loads more to play, in fact the playlist is over 9 hours long so far.

Thanks again for the input, and if anyone's interested I can post a link to the playlist.

It goes without saying if you want to hear my version of a Classic Rock Christmas tune in Christmas Eve.

Either way thanks for the input and Happy Holidays everybody.
