Bryan Adams has announced details of the covers album Tracks Of My Years due September 12.

I don't think I've heard anything from Bryan since "All for Love" in '93. Needless to add, I can't listen to that or "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" anymore, but I still enjoy songs like "Summer of '69".

Yeh, I stopped listening to him after Everything I Do, a double edged sword, super success but kind of ruined him musically, for me anyhow. Shame really, always liked going to his gigs, great value.

I think it's fine if he wants to do a covers album. He can do whatever he likes. It may not be necessarily for money or for some desperate attempt to be relevant. ( a new studio album pandering to the current pop scene would be desperation, not a covers album of his fav songs) Anyway, I won't be buying this because there's way too many classic albums still on my list which would take precedence.

I'm sure I"ll check it out. I like many of the songs listed and I think Bryan is a decent singer/musician.

I really like the first three or four albums, after that it's the occasional song.

I've no problem with covers albums (although I would never buy one) but I worry about the song selection here. If he plans to adapt them into his trademark AOR style, he's about to neuter some of the most beautiful songs ever ("Tracks of my tears", "God only knows", "Many rivers to cross").

Please stay away from Michael Bolton territory, Bryan!
