This one is really hard...I love both but Van Halen was so different when I bought it, Eddie's guitar just jumped out at you so I'll have to give it my vote.

VH - Debut 9.9/10

Boston -Debut 9.8/10

LG said it all for me.

I was stuck on this one for a LONG TIME!!! No Lie!! The first Boston is an all around classic and a perfect debut, but I think I was a tad more excited getting my first copy of Van Halen's debut for the first time. What a collection of songs!!

Bostons debut was decent but Van Halens was killer.

two of the very best RnR debut albums ever recorded!

My vote goes to VH, but that's no slam on Boston. This Boston album = the epitome of "AOR" and I love it to death, but in my opinion, the VH debut broke new ground and completely changed the game for years to come. Not very often a band/artist/album can do that, but VH1 DID just that.
