Re: Don't Look Back

I have the first three and that is good enough for my Boston fix...:D

I know MP and a couple of my other forum buddies have told me some of their later albums are good, but I feel at this point in time I can play the first two and really enjoy them at their peak.

Re: Don't Look Back

They have actually released 5 studio albums, Boston, Don't Look Back, Third Stage, Walk On, and Corporate America. Corporate America was released in 2002, so in 27 years we got 5 studio albums. About one every 5 1/2 years.:wtf: That's slow. Especially since the first two were only 2 years apart. They are supposedly working on another studio album. Sure. Release date will probably be 2020.:bonk:

Yeah, another Chinese Democracy!!!:oyea::heheh::lmao:

Average - 5

I remember getting the first cd when I was 14 as one of the Columbia House selections as I was getting into classic rock at the time, and LOVED it, so I had to get this one not long afterwards, but outside of three or so tracks, the album never did much for me

7 Repeating the brilliance of the 1st album was next to impossible.

Re: Don't Look Back

With the exceptions of "Don't Look Back" and "A Man I'll Never Be"...the other cuts seem hum-drum to me. Went with "good" though it had such a high bar to clear with their debut.

Tom Scholz has said that he felt the album was rushed and it might just have been. The studio probably really wanted a follow up to the first album and the studios ruled in those days.

Don't Be Afraid was on the original demo in a couple versions.

But, if this is "rushed", I'll take more like it.

I rated it a 5 - average. Some good songs but they said what they had to say on the first album, in my opinion.

He considers it rushed, two years after their debut? In the '70s, two years was a long time between albums.
