Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Thanks LG!:grinthumb

A couple of other ones worth salvaging off The Revolution By Night.

Another biker song in the vein of Golden Age Of Leather

A moody one from the album

I'm a huge BOC fan. I have all of their official US releases other then the hits packages ,two DVD four shirts and have seen them live seven times. GREAT band that I obviously love.

^^That is great DKW.

I have only seen them once, but at least it was the support tour after Fire of Unknown Origin was released so they were in their prime.

What's your favorite album, if you can name one?

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Secret Treaties and Cultösaurus Erectus are probably my favorites.
Tyranny and Mutation, Agents of Fortune, Fire of Unknown Origin the live ones
etc. are all awesome though. Hard choice but I guess I'll go with those two.

I have the film Black and Blue on a bootleg DVD out of Japan and it is AWESOME. I love that thing :grinthumb

I saw them in the late 90's and in the 2000's but they were incredible
I have seen a lot of concerts and they are still able to rock with the best of the younger guys even in their 50's.
Like I said GREAT band.

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Fire of Unknown Origin is their last great studio album IMO but there is still
a lot of good stuff to be found on the later issues. Imaginos is the only one I don't really care for other then bad channels but they are not BOC albums in reality but more like projects or so I have read.

You are right, starting with Revolution By Night the band went through some serious changes, and they were not at the same level for a long time. The next album I will post was definitely not highly thought of by the band or their fans, but I do like one song off it.

So true, it took quite a long time to like some the later stuff but
BOC is just one of those bands that I find things I like in
most everything they did.

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Gave Mirrors a good listen over the weekend. I can't see why BOC says it's their least favorite album. It's better than I remember and the wife actually likes it. (she has no tolerance for hard rock outside of AC/DC, go figure) But Mirrors is, imho, better than Tyranny And Mutation, Revolution By Night, Imaginos, and Club Ninja (by a mile). I think it kind of gets lost in the shuffle of all the great albums they put out in the mid 70s to early 80s.

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Nice Avvy RE.:D

I liked Mirrors when it came out, and had no idea why the band was so disappointed with it. I already mentioned I thought the production values were probably the best the band ever had on a studio album, and yet Tom Werman got nothing but stick for his work on that album. While I don't rate it above Tyranny...it is in my top 5 of their discography for sure.
