Re: The Black Crowes

I love this band and a great thread, I have seen them many a time and they are a great bunch of musicians. I have all their albums and look forward to hearing their apparent swansong this year, should be good.

Seriously ? The End for them ? :(

Really like this band. Their Frost/Freeze album is amazing. I didn't know people were still making music that good.

Yep, it's true, the Crowes are coming to an end. The 2010 release of Croweology is their last. This album is more than just a compilation, it is some of their finest moments in acoustic......

If you get this album, you will notice some great additions to the music like fiddle, banjo, and added percussion. Some of the songs have been completely reworked. "Downtown Money Washer" is a hoot, complete with banjo, harmonica, slide guitar, and mandolin (a country style song). "Thorn in My Pride" has a great mid-song jam added. If you are a Crowes fan, you wont be disappointed.

Really? I haven't heard that and I consider myself a pretty big Crowes Fan? Where did you read or hear this important but bad news? I was really thinking that a new album with new material would be in the works after this tour...this is gonna make the show in October @ Massey Hall (Toronto,Canada) bittersweet...

I too have seen them in their heyday and love the first two albums, I have all their albums and will be buying the new one very soon. They have a certain quality and really know how to capture an audience. They do mature with age and seem to have been around for ever, I remember seeing them in Sheffield and they rocked the house and the hammond.

Twice as hard is a classic and Shake your money maker is a classic debut.

Sad to hear that the Crowes are coming to an end

That's what they say....but, I personally don't believe it.

They already took a 6 and a half year break, last decade and came back...

I seriously doubt this is the end of the Black Crowes.

Totally agree Groovy Man, I would not be surprised to see them put together another album. No offense to Marc Ford, but I really really like the current Crowes lineup. I see Chris and Rich and others doing some personal side stuff, but from what I saw on the Cabin Fever DVD they really seem to be getting along great and really making some very good Rock n Roll Music. I am totally excited about seeing them on October 27th in Toronto @ Massey Hall. 3hrs of Crowes Shit is going to be awesome. Last time I saw them @ Massey Hall in 2006 the setlist was great IMO
