Such a difficult task picking just one, it'd probably be between these two for me

I really couldn't choose one above the other, sorry :peek

Like so many yang things, this fish still has a yin eye, namely Sweet Child Of Mine. I despise that song, but my hatred has probably been intensified by it being so popular. Other than that one song, Appetite For Destruction is a rock masterpiece.

There have been a lot of excellent records mentioned in this thread but I'm going to have to agree with, Dr. Love on this one. Only difference is that I still love "Sweet Child O' Mine". "Appetite..." has been one of my favorite albums since I first heard years ago and it still is just as exciting and sweet to my ears today as it was then.

Others that I could go with would be Tom Waits' "Rain Dogs", Bowie's "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps", Iron Maiden's "Powerslave", Ozzy's "Tribute", and the Dead Kennedy's "Fresh Fruit for Rotten Vegetables" but ultimately Guns N' Roses reigns supreme in my book. :grinthumb

The 80's was the decade when music started becoming corporate business. However, there were a few that shone through, and my favourite one has to be REM's debut, Murmur. Ominous, moody music and indistinct vocals all added to the charm that was early REM.

Glad to see someone mention that one. That's by far my favourite Ozzy Osbourne record and one of my favourite live records by any artist!

Yeah, the same for me. I have such a hard time picking between "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman" so "Tribute" is like a happy medium between the two. Plus it really shows off how good Randy truly was.

Nice pick, although I would personally pick Lifes Rich Pageant if you asked me to pick best REM album of the 80s. I do like Murmur but prefer Pageant and Document.

Only downside is that some of my favorite Ozzy songs like "Tonight" and "Diary of a Madman" aren't on it but we can't have everything.

As far as Queensryche goes as good as Mindcrime was I actually liked The Warning and Rage for Order a bit more.
