Ace Frehley vs Angus Young

Love both. I'll admit that neither one is the most technically proficient guitarist on earth, but BOTH do play well enough to really make you love what they are doing. I don't just love the guitarists here, but both of their bands as well.


Ace Frehley does take this one though (and easily for me). Ace's guitar playing with Kiss is one of the biggest reasons I ever even started playing guitar back in the mid 80's. If not for him and a couple of other guys, I'd still be playing the air guitar with a tennis racket in hand.

I'll have to give it to Angus as well, but I respect Ace more now than I ever have due to MP, Lynch, Slip and the rest of the KISS Army that infests this place...

Ace's guitar work on those first 3 studio albums and Alive! is smokin'. He just oozes "classic rock" guitar on those albums.

Ace for sure. Angus is great, but to me, Ace played a lot more smoothly when the song required it.

Also, I can remember several Ace solos, but not as many Angus solos (which is odd because I listened to AC/DC for a longer time.)
